Meghan Boggess has spent most of her life studying the human form and its capabilities. A competitive dancer from a young age, intensive daily training bestowed onto her incredible endurance, core and lower body strength. While enrolled in California State University Long Beach’s highly esteemed dance program, she discovered Pilates and its amazing effects on her. She learned about the importance of upper body strength as she watched her body reshape – her arms, hips and legs leaned out and toned up. Moreover, she was exhilarated by the challenging workouts and felt that she was genuinely doing something truly good for her body as opposed to the abuse she inflicted by contorting herself in dance.
This epiphany led her to embark on the Pilates certification process and switch her major to a Dance Science program with an emphasis in kinesiology. Her devout work ethic allowed her to earn her BASI certification and Bachelor of Arts, both of which she immediately began to use professionally. The South Bay and Newport Beach Equinox Fitness Clubs were lucky to have her for a few years until Meghan decided to further challenge herself by working in a more intimate environment in which she could truly make a difference.
Studio Director, Pilates Instructor
Christine Leo understands the importance of healing. During her 17 years as clinic director of her own chiropractic practice, she began the study and implementation of Pilates in 1999 as a remedy for her personal injuries while imparting the principles on her own patients. In active practice for 20 years, Christine sought transition into a different arena of health in which she could build on her knowledge as well as her desire to empower her clients to take charge of their health. She then earned her Balanced Body Pilates certification allowing her to make a difference for those looking to get stronger and healthier while increasing their mobility.
Her chiropractic education grants her the keen ability to determine the best ways to recover from both surgeries and injuries while concurrently developing a regime that will generate results inside and out. Christine thrives on empowering her clients with methods to better their breathing, focus on strengthening their core, increase range of motion, heighten bone density, and live a healthier, happier life. And if a more defined physique also emerges, well, that’s all the better.
Cindy Scott loves Pilates, plain and simple. Having endured a total of 6 foot surgeries since 1998, her 2007 discovery of Pilates enabled her to feel her absolute best after a life of running, kickboxing, and other athletics wreaked havoc on her joints. A number of years prior, she’d contemplated becoming a personal trainer but was ensconced in the business world and couldn’t quite make the change. As the corporate climate reconfigured itself, however, the change was made for her granting her the opportunity to pursue her ultimate passion. Her a-ha moment had surfaced. Mass quantities of research led her to realize that STOTT Pilates was the perfect fit.
Determination coupled with hard work earned her the Certification that would propel her into the career of her dreams. Knowing how she benefited so greatly from the practice of Pilates, it is with genuine enthusiasm that she greets clients and thrives on seeing them improve, change, feel better and move better. Cindy seems to find a new challenge every day and passes it on to her clients because she feels Pilates never gets old. Pilates is a life changing experience and Pilates is for life.
Pilates Instructor
Kevin Rausch, Studio Owner
Kevin’s interest in Pilates was a natural progression courtesy of his own pursuit for the ultimate gateway to strength and healing. First exposed to Physical Therapy as a patient when he was a volleyball-playing, med school-aspiring high school student, Kevin discovered first hand how to develop his own strength while refurbishing his musculature, and, quite frankly, his blown out knee. Not only did he leave with a better athletic mindset than when he came in, but with a profoundly different career direction.
A Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Cal Baptist University (where he played Men’s Volleyball) was immediately followed up with a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. He returned to his native Orange County and secured his first job as a physical therapist. Not only did he gain 2 years of practical knowledge from this experience, but it gave him insight into how he would run is own practice. And so he did just that. Originally with himself in the sole Physical Therapist role within a small office, he eventually, after a nasty bike wreck put him back onto the table, found a larger space and procured an amazing staff of PTs.
Throughout his personal rehabilitations and professional observations, Kevin was privy to the benefits of Pilates for both healing as well as in further developing the frames, stature and stamina of clients. It was a no-brainer – he set up a Pilates facility within his Rausch Physical Therapy for helping injured clients as well as to engage those interested in sports performance and training. More recently, an opportunity presented itself to take over a local Pilates facility and so was born the current incarnation of Fluid Pilates with Kevin quietly at the helm. With his latest endeavor, Kevin takes pride in employing a phenomenally diverse group of instructors who in turn tend to an even more diverse array of clients.
